Clayton’s performance at Ascension 2013

Posted on Updated on

This weekend was quite a weekend of performances for me. Friday was the Voices benefit concert, and Saturday was Goliath Arts’ Ascension 2013 closing night. At Ascension, I performed a half-hour acoustic set of covers with my friend, and occasionally bandmate, Nickan. We whipped together most of the songs the morning of the show, and one during soundcheck… Despite that fact, I still feel like it went much better than expected. Besides going through a string-breaking crisis before the show, and on stage, the night went very smoothly.

Rather than posting a single acoustic cover as an assignment, here are eight. Enjoy!

If I told you I wasn’t nervously sweating on stage, I’d be lying…

BOOM! Thanks for sharing this set, as well, Clayton – great to see how the rest of your weekend panned out on stage. As you are no doubt discovering, there is no substitute for time spent on stage as a means of learning about how to perform – between your Optimus Prime vs. Megatron performance, accompanying Amy, this acoustic set, and the two Alluvium shows on Friday, you’ve been really effectively honing your skills.

    Keep up the great work!
